Hallow-een

Happy Dia de los Muertos everyone!

We're taking time today to remember those who aren't with us anymore. We set up our altar a few weeks ago but used today to reflect. A nice follow up for all the revelry of yesterday.

Several homes in our neighborhood really did it up this year. Here's a sampling from a drive by early yesterday evening.

This iron fence was put up just for halloween.

I wouldn't want to be the spinder caught up in this web.

Or this one either... I really like the webs on the front porch of this house.

This house really freaked Sterling out a couple of weeks ago. We walk past it every morning and the first morning only the tombstones were out (not the fence, lights, ghosts, etc). I think Sterling saw the dead rising from their graves because he just wouldn't keep walking. We had to go back and really spend some time in the yard before he seemed ok to continue our walk.

At casa de LizKnits... well, we had toys.

Yep a cauldron full of dry ice. The kids' reactions to this were just too funny. The funniest though...a boy of about 10 asked us if we "got it from Martha Stewart." His mom apparently got her's there. I almost laughed out loud.

Other than giving out candy to about 400 kids, what else did I do?

Toil and touble of course.

Wow - 400 kids! That's a lot of candy : ) Looks like your neighbordhood went all out. I'm sure Martha Stewart would approve of your cauldron : )
