We're melting!

The heat here in southern California has been absolutely unbelievable. Both Friday and Saturday our thermometer said it was 108 outside; 106 yesterday. Today we only seem to have gotten up to 102. Crazy hot stuff. Every day I expect to see the concrete starting to melt.

In the context of such heat, it should be no surprise that the desire to hold heavy wool fabric on my lap has been low. In fact, the desire to knit at all has been sapped by the heat. Given that, it's pretty amazing that over the weekend I whipped up all the pieces for the baby pullover pictured above. All that's left is the seaming and finishing. Maybe when the high falls back under 100 degrees I'll feel motivated to finish up the silly thing. Heaven knows that baby will be smart to stay inside until at least August when the heat starts to disipate.

In the meantime, we're all using a similar strategy to cope with the heat.

You know... the roll onto your back and expose your belly strategy.

I hear it's great for cooling off.

Ah, but where is your photo implementing the strategy? I detest heat and humidity, probably the humidity more than the heat, so I feel your pain. Right now, I'm trying to psyche myself into mowing the lawn - not going so well.

Its hot here too, I am not that keen although the evenings here do cool nicely. I love that baby sweater.

I had to make several trips to Von's frozen food section over the weekend, just to cool off! I didn't need any groceries!!!!
